Updating and initializing software

If you want to initialize your device’s software or repair your device from persistent errors, you can use the software update and initialization function. This function updates and initializes your device’s software including all of your personal data and settings. Please back up your personal data and settings before initializing your device.

To update and initialize software, follow these steps:

1At the top of the Smart Switch window, click MORE → Emergency software recovery and initialization.

2Click the Software Update and Initialization tab.

3In the Model name box, enter your device model name and click Search.

4In the S/N or IMEI box, enter your device’s serial number or IMEI number and click OK.

5Check the software version to install and then click OK.

6Follow the on-screen instructions to put your device into recovery mode and click OK.

7When the soft update and initialization are complete, click OK.
