The major functions of Smart Switch are available when a device is connected to your computer. Connect your device to your computer with your device’s USB cable. When your device is connected, the Smart Switch window will display your device information and three main buttons (Backup, Restore, and Outlook Sync).
Some conditions on your device or computer may prevent your device from connecting to Smart Switch. If you cannot connect your device to Smart Switch, try the following actions:
• Connect only one device to your computer.
• Make sure that your device is unlocked.
• Set your device’s USB connection mode to MTP (Media Transfer Protocol) mode.
• Stop any other operations that require a USB connection, such as Internet sharing, on your device.
• Make sure that your device is not currently in Emergency mode.
• Sign in to your device with the master account if your device has multiple accounts.
• You may need to install SmartSwitch Mobile on your device.
